Electronic Travel Authorization, or ETA (E Visa India)

Applicants may submit an electronic application for an India visa. In 2014, the Indian government launched the E-Visa India program. The E Visa India was first issued for a relatively brief duration, allowing people to enter the country twice each calendar year.

E-Visas for India are available for one month, multiple-entry travel for one year, and five years. Over 160 nations have been granted the opportunity to obtain an E Visa for India.

E Visa India permits travelers to land at 28 certain airports and five specific seaports. The applicant, however, has the option to withdraw from any of the ICPS ( Indian Immigration Check Posts)

The application process for an India E-Visa is so simple that applicants may submit their applications and payments online. The applicant gets permission to access their email address after approval. 2. What kind of trip may one apply for an E visa to India?

Applicants whose only goal is recreation, sightseeing, getting together with friends and family, attending a short-term yoga program, business meetings, short-term medical treatments, serving as an assistant to someone with an e-Medical visa, or attending a conference, seminar, or workshop.

3. What documents are needed to apply for an E Visa to India?

The passport must be valid for at least six months at the time of travel to India to apply for an E visa. A minimum of two blank pages in the passport are required for the trip to India. Every applicant, including newly born children, must have current international access to apply for an E visa to India.

4. Who cannot apply for an Indian E-Visa

No one can apply for an E-Visa to India if they are of Pakistani descent or have a Pakistani passport.

Candidates with paternal or maternal grandparents born in Pakistan cannot apply for an E visa to India.

Those with a permanent address in Pakistan are ineligible to apply for an E visa for India.

E Visa India applications are not accepted by anyone with valid diplomatic or official passports or laissez-passer documents.

E-Visa applicants for India are not permitted to carry an international identity document or a temporary travel document.

5. How long is the e-Visa for India valid?

E-Visas for India are valid for various periods based on the applicant's needs and the trip's objectives.

Except for citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Japan, the E-Tourist Visa (01 year/05 years) enables multiple entries and continuous stays during each visit of no more than 90 days. For citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Japan, an E-visa allows the applicant to stay continuously during each visit for a maximum of 180 days.

The E-Tourist Visa has a 30-day validity period starting when it is issued. Therefore, the applicant's initial arrival day must be within the ETA's issuing and expiration dates. Double entries will be permitted within the e-Visa validity period inscribed on the applicant's passport. Therefore, the candidate may stay in India for up to 30 days with double entries starting on the day they arrive.

A continuous stay of no more than 180 days is permitted during each visit with the E-Business Visa, which includes multiple entries and a 365-day validity term. Therefore, no registration is needed if the holiday is less than 180 days. However, if the applicant intends to stay in India for more than 180 days, the applicant must register with the FRRO/FRO in question (https://indianfrro.gov.in) within two weeks of the 180 days have passed since arrival.

E-Conference Visa has a 30-day single-entry validity period after the date of arrival in India.

The e-Medical Visa's validity term, imprinted on the applicant's passport, will be 60 days from the day of their initial arrival in India. Triple entries are permitted during this time.

A triple entrance is permitted within the term of e-Visa validity shown on the applicant's passport, which is 60 days from the initial arrival in India.

6. When should I apply for an E-Visa to India?

Applications for e-Tourist Visas (01 year/05 years), e-Business Visas, e-Medical, e-Medical Attendant, and e-Conference Visas may be submitted online at least seven days before the intended date of travel to India. One can apply for an E visa for India 120 days before the intended departure date.

Applicants from the qualifying countries and territories may submit an online application at least seven days before the date of arrival for an e-Tourist Visa to India, which has a 30-day single entry validity. This E-Visa India application can be submitted 30 days before the departure date.
